The Carolina Panthers have signed running back Rico Dowdle to a one-year deal worth up to $6.25 million, just one day after releasing Miles Sanders. Dowdle, an Asheville native, had a standout 2024 season with the Dallas Cowboys, starting 15 of 16 games. He rushed for 1,079 yards and two touchdowns, adding 39 catches for 249 yards and three touchdowns, according to WCCB. His 1,328 yards from scrimmage ranked 20th in the NFL. Dowdle played college football at the University of South Carolina after attending A.C. Reynolds High School.
