Creative teens are invited to submit designs for Recycle the Runway, Mecklenburg County’s annual fashion show showcasing outfits made from recyclable materials. Hosted by Mecklenburg County Solid Waste and Keep Mecklenburg Beautiful, the event gives high school students from public or private schools a chance to create fashion using items like cardboard, aluminum cans, newspaper, foam, and books.

At least 85% of each outfit must be made from recyclable materials accepted in Mecklenburg County, per WCCB. Students will debut their creations at the Recycle the Runway show at Northlake Mall on May 3 at 1 p.m.
