North Carolina coach Hubert Davis has signed a two-year extension, keeping him with the Tar Heels through the 2029-30 season. According to WCCB, the extension also includes a salary boost, with his base pay rising from $400,000 to $1.25 million. Davis, whose contract now averages $3.2 million annually, also announced the hiring of Jim Tanner as the program’s first executive director and GM. Tanner, a basketball agent, will help the team navigate the evolving world of college athletics. Additionally, Davis’ contract includes $750,000 from apparel and media deals, a $50,000 allowance, and potential bonuses of up to $1.25 million.
