Panthers Will Not Bring Back Thompson
The Carolina Panthers announced Monday morning that veteran linebacker Shaq Thompson will not return to the team for the 2025 season.
Thompson, 30, was drafted in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft and played in Super Bowl 50 as a rookie alongside Panthers legends Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis. With 752 tackles, Thompson ranks fourth in franchise history, per WBTV. However, his career has been marred by injuries, including a broken ankle in Week 2 of 2023 and a torn Achilles in Week 4 of the 2024 season.
