A group of students staged a peaceful “walkout” at West Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte on Tuesday to advocate for better conditions, according to Principal Casimir Bundrick. According to WBTV, the walkout followed the circulation of a letter on social media, where students expressed concerns about conditions affecting their education and well-being. Issues raised included poor bathroom conditions, feeling overworked, and a lack of extracurricular activities. The letter also cited the presence of roaches, flooding, broken ceiling tiles, and mold throughout the school.
