Amazon workers in 20 countries, including the United States, are striking over what the organizing union describes as anti-worker and anti-democratic practices. According to Queen City News, this marks the fifth year of the “Make Amazon Pay” movement, led by UNI Global Union, which seeks to hold the company accountable for alleged labor abuses, environmental harm, and threats to democracy. Amazon spokesperson Eileen Hards responded, calling the union’s claims misleading and accusing it of promoting a false narrative.
