The Carolina Panthers (3-7) battled hard but fell short against the defending back-to-back Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs (9-1) in a thrilling 30-27 finish.

With the game tied late in the fourth quarter, Chuba Hubbard powered into the end zone for a touchdown, then converted a two-point play to equalize. However, the Chiefs had 1:46 left on the clock and quickly responded, per WBTV.

Patrick Mahomes connected with DeAndre Hopkins on a crucial 3rd-and-2 to move the chains, then scrambled for 33 yards down the sideline to set up a 31-yard game-winning field goal from Spencer Shrader.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young finished with 263 passing yards and a touchdown.
