Charlotte Football Names New Leader

Following an extensive evaluation of the Charlotte football program, Director of Athletics Mike Hill has announced that head coach Biff Poggi has been relieved of his duties.

A national search for Poggi’s successor will begin immediately. In the meantime, associate head coach Tim Brewster has been named interim head coach for the remainder of the 2024 season. Brewster will lead the 49ers in their final two games, starting with a road matchup against Florida Atlantic on Saturday, followed by a Senior Day game against UAB on November 30 at 3:30 p.m. at Jerry Richardson Stadium.

Hill and Brewster are scheduled to address the media during the program’s weekly press conference on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Judy Rose Center.
