Suspect Arrested for Arson in North Charlotte

A suspect has been arrested following an investigation that revealed an early morning fire was intentionally set, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to a blaze on Somerset Springs Drive around 5:45 a.m. Sunday, battling heavy smoke and flames. A second alarm was called just minutes later as the fire began to spread. The situation was brought under control by 6 a.m.
Investigators confirmed the fire was deliberately set, leading to the suspect’s arrest. The individual sustained injuries and received medical treatment after the arrest.
According to WCCB, the fire displaced four residents and caused an estimated $345,000 in property damage. The Red Cross is currently assisting those affected.
