Showmars Location to Close in Charlotte

According to WSOC, Showmars has confirmed that it will not renew its lease at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center on E. Fourth Street. While a specific closing date has not been announced, the City of Charlotte reports that the lease has expired and a request for proposals to find a new tenant is currently underway. Details about which restaurants have applied for the space have not been disclosed.
The new lease will require approval from the Charlotte City Council, with a final decision anticipated in the fall. Showmars has been a favored lunch option for those working in the Second Ward and is currently the only dining option available within the Government Center.
