Stormy Weather Persists

As we approach the final weekend of July, storm activity is expected to increase. While this afternoon has been mostly dry, storm chances will rise overnight and into the latter part of the weekend. Be prepared for strong cells with gusty winds, frequent lightning, and small hail, though the overall severe risk remains low. Temperatures will stay below average in the 70s and 80s due to clouds and storms, with a few areas possibly reaching the 90s, particularly east of the Metro.
WCCB says, the stormy weather will persist into the workweek as a stalled front slowly moves north. Highs may near 90º midweek with more sunshine, but scattered afternoon storms could limit temperature gains. Another round of energy later in the week might boost rain chances and help alleviate the drought. Tropical activity remains low as Saharan dust continues to affect the Atlantic development zones.
