One of two teenagers charged in a deadly shooting spree earlier this week appeared in court Friday morning.
Eighteen-year-old Carlos Roberto-Diaz faces charges of first-degree murder, five counts of attempted murder, and other felonies. He is accused of randomly shooting at four people over a 30-minute period early Tuesday. According to WBTV, a 16-year-old, whose name has not been released, was also arrested in connection with the incident.
The suspects allegedly drove around, shooting at random. The spree resulted in the death of 58-year-old Mustaffa Muhammad at an intersection in north Charlotte. Additionally, a man on a bicycle and a woman in a residence were injured but survived.
Roberto-Diaz was denied bond on the murder charges by the district court judge, who has scheduled a hearing in Superior Court later this month.
