Wellness Day to help save Black Men’s Lives

The statistics are alarming: Heart disease and stroke continue to plague African American men at rates far greater than whites – coming in at 59%. With complications from hypertension, diabetes, colon cancer and other life-threatening diseases, the persisting health challenges of black men are a bane to their families and community. That’s why the upcoming Black Men’s Wellness Day is enormously important. The event will provide a bevy of resources to help save the lives of black men. ‘COMMUNITY VOICES’ host, Ron Holland delved into the health concerns of black men with Herb Gray, the Honorary Chair of the Black Men’s Well Day and the event’s coordinator, Duvale Murchison. Â
